Hyunjee, born in South Korea, began playing the piano at the age of 6. She is recognized as both a pianist and an accomplished music educator.
As a solo pianist, she has performed in prestigious venues such as Young Artist Concert and an outdoor concert in Gijon and Candas, Spain, as well as the Indianapolis Young Artist Concert at Indiana University in Bloomington, First Universalist Church, Kilbourn recital hall, Hatch recital hall in Rochester, NY, Hilda and Douglas Goodwin recital hall in Baltimore, MD, Guilderland Public library in Albany NY.
In addition to her solo performances, Hyunjee has also displayed her talents as a collaborative artist and accompanist, showcasing her ability to work with other musicians. She has also served as a jury member for the Tchaikovsky Piano Competition at the New Russia Cultural Center in Bethlehem, NY.
Hyunjee has been recognized for her accomplishments, having been awarded first prizes in the Kukje International Piano Competition, Korea-Chamber Orchestra Music Competition, Yejeon International Piano Competition, and Korea-Germany International Piano Competition in her native Korea.
She earned a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance and literature from the Eastman School of Music under the guidance of Enrico Elisi and Nelita True. She furthered her education with a Master of Music degree from the Peabody Conservatory at Johns Hopkins University, mentored by Alexander Shtarkman.
With over a decade of teaching experience, Hyunjee has shared her expertise with students of all ages, motivating them to reach their full potential through a range of motivational approaches tailored to their individual personalities and learning styles.
