Japanese-American pianist Emily is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a Masters of Music in Piano Performance and Pedagogy under the direction of Dr. Jane Magrath and Dr. Barbara Fast. Most recently, Emily was an accompanist for the Music in the Marche program in Mondavio, Italy. Previously, she earned her Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance in Texas. As an active member of the Music Teachers National Association, Emily has researched and presented alongside colleagues on topics such as diversity in the group piano classroom and Piano Trios. Emily regularly adjudicates festivals and achievement auditions. She served as chair of the Norman Music Teachers Association community performance event for the 2021-2022 year. Emily has taught group piano and high school ensemble class at the prestigious Interlochen Center for the Arts summer program.
