Brian Lee, co-founder, owner, and program director of Galliard Music, is a guitarist, pianist, composer, producer, and educator based in New York. With a deep love for performance, composition, and education, Brian brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his innovative music program.

Brian has been performing live since 2003 in multiple bands on the guitar, bass guitar, keyboards, and vocals across Long Island, NYC, and other parts of the northeast. Signed to Valley View Records in 2021, Brian's recent music endeavors include his ambient project under the moniker "Silent Travelers," which combines field recordings, synthesizers, and guitars to create atmospheric textures and dreamy ambient soundscapes. This project has garnered widespread acclaim, amassing millions of streams across all major music streaming platforms.

An instructor of guitar, ukulele, and piano since 2005, Brian has taught students of all ages and levels, including students with special needs. He is also a band instructor, working with kids ages 12-18, teaching them the skills needed to be in a band and preparing them for numerous live performances. Brian has successfully sent many of his students to NYSSMA, all of whom have received outstanding scores. He has also taught elementary school music in Manhattan and Queens, in both public and private schools.

At Galliard Music, Brian has created a nurturing and creative space where students can explore their musical talents and grow as artists. The program offers a diverse range of services, from private lessons to group classes and specialized workshops. Brian studied guitar with Steve Salerno, piano with Geoffrey Burleson and Gary Hammond, and composition with Sidney Boquiren. He holds a Bachelors of Science in Music Performance from Adelphi University and a Masters of Arts in Music Education from Hunter College.

Brian believes in a holistic approach to music education, where technical proficiency is balanced with creativity and emotional expression. He strives to create a supportive and encouraging learning experience where students feel motivated to explore and grow. Brian has designed and implemented a variety of unique programs that offer immersive and fun learning experiences, tailored to different age groups and skill levels.

Brian's students have consistently performed well in recitals and competitions. Many of his students have received scholarships to college, reflecting the high level of discipline and achievement fostered through their musical training. He actively participates in the music community by organizing workshops and recitals that foster a love for music and provide performance opportunities for his students.
