Hector was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1986. At the age of 3, his family moved to Florida, where his grandmother enrolled him in his first violin lessons with a local teacher. At the age of 10, he began studies with Elizabeth McClung and continued his studies with her throughout his years at the Middle School of the Arts in West Palm Beach, Florida (Now Bak Middle School of the Arts). Upon entering high school at Dreyfoos High School of the Arts, Hector began private violin instruction with Laurice Buckton. By his senior year of high school, he began working as a supernumerary with Palm Beach Opera. He continued working with them for 6 years, joining the chorus in his sophomore year of college. He started taking private vocal instruction with Bryon Grohman, with whom he studied for 2 years. With a greater emphasis on his vocal lessons, he stopped studying violin classically and undertook performing with traditional Irish ensembles throughout Palm Beach County. Upon completion of his Bachelors in Psychology, he started studying voice privately with Charles Schneider in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, before beginning lessons with his present teacher Franco Bertacci. He is currently residing back in New York with plans to perform opera professionally.
Hector has a wide variety of instructional experience, within the world of music as well as swimming. Hector is a phenomenal educator; he realizes the many commonalities that go into teaching and learning which help him take experiences from one subject and apply them to the other. He is fluent in Spanish and can also speak advanced French. Hector also has lots of experience teaching special needs students that have both mental and physical delays. This gives him greater insight into how he can help give the gift of music to all of his students. He makes sure all of his pupils understand that the process may be long, but he as their instructor is always on their side and will constantly encourage them and help them enjoy music better in the process.
Enjoy taking music lessons from a highly qualified instructor in the comfort of your home.
